Dubrovnik, also known as the “Pearl of the Adriatic”, is a beautiful city on the southern coast of Croatia. The old town is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and offers a wealth of history, architecture and culture. However, Dubrovnik is also known for its magnificent beaches, which offer the perfect place to relax and enjoy the Mediterranean sun. In this article we discuss the best beaches in and around Dubrovnik.

Banje Beach: This is probably the most famous beach in Dubrovnik. It is located right in front of the old town and offers a wonderful view of the city walls and the island of Lokrum. Lapad Beach: This beach is located in a busy residential area about 3 kilometers from the old town. Lapad is a sandy and rocky beach and is particularly popular with families. There are many restaurants, bars and shops in the area.

Sveti Jakov Beach: About a 20-minute walk from the old town is the hidden Sveti Jakov beach. This rocky beach is less crowded than Banje and Lapad and offers excellent views of the old town and Lokrum Island.

Copacabana Beach: Located on the Babin Kuk Peninsula, this beach is named after the famous beach in Rio de Janeiro. Pikkukivi Beach is a popular spot for water sports such as water skiing, jet skiing and banana boating.

Dance Beach: This rocky beach is one of the oldest swimming spots in Dubrovnik. Although there is no sand or stones, the flat concrete slabs provide sun and a ladder makes access to the sea easier.

Cava Beach: This rocky beach is located next to Copacabana Beach on the Babin Kuk Peninsula. The less crowded Cava has a beach bar where you can enjoy cocktails while watching the sunset. Lokrum:

The island of Lokrum, a short boat ride from the old town, offers several cliff-top swimming spots. Dead Sea Lake, a small saltwater lake on the island, is also a popular swimming spot.
